Dr. Lubna Alnasser, BDS, AEGD, MPH, PhD
Dr. Lubna Alnasser began her career as a dentist at King Abdulaziz Medical City for the National Guard, focusing on medically-compromised patients, in 2006. She completed her dental residency training and joined the medical protocol department in 2009 as an assistant, later becoming an associate consultant in advanced general dentistry. During her clinical tenure, she developed a deep appreciation for the social and structural determinants that shape the burden of oral health and other chronic diseases. This understanding motivated her to pursue a Master of Public Health in Epidemiology at King Saud bin Abdulaziz University for Health Sciences.
In 2015, Dr. Alnasser began a fellowship in Dental Public Health at the School of Dental Medicine at Columbia University, earning the American Board certification in 2017. She completed her Ph.D. in Public Health, specializing in Epidemiology, from the Mailman School of Public Health at Columbia University in 2022, where she focused on a life-course research approach to oral health and the associated systemic comorbidities.
Dr. Alnasser is now an epidemiologist and chairperson of the Department of Population Health at King Abdullah International Medical Research Center. Her research interests include the intersection of oral and systemic health, social determinants of health, psychiatric epidemiology, and non-communicable diseases (NCDs).
Dr. Alnasser’s current efforts focus on leveraging real-world data to enhance population health through building and optimizing the infrastructure for clinical research within the Ministry of National Guard’s Health Affairs.
